This beautiful Nanotyrannus tooth was found near the surface, where the natural elements and the twisting roots of plants etched into the enamel, surprisingly a strip of enamel remains along the serrated edge, preserving them. The side facing away from the surface is better preserved with a light gloss from where the enamel used to be.
No repair or restoration.
Nanotyrannus is a small, fast-moving tyrannosaur from the Late Cretaceous, found in the Lance Formation of Wyoming. Estimated to reach about 20 feet long, it had a slender build, a narrow skull, and more teeth than T. rex.
