Rare Fossil Great White San Diego 1.6"

Pristine Great white specimen with great serrations and a pointy tip. There is a small chip on the root lobe. These Sand Diego great white teeth were collected by a gentleman in the 1930s who grew up near downtown San Diego, about an hour’s drive from Oceanside. At that time, this part of San Diego was undeveloped and featured many bluffs where the teeth were discovered. Today, there are thousands of multi-million dollar homes built on top and any collecting is strictly forbidden because of erosion. This tooth was collected almost 100 years ago!  It also phosphoresces under UV light due to high concentrations of phosphatic minerals and trace elements, which absorb UV energy and re-release it as visible light.
